William Taubman on Mikhail Gorbachev, with Kai Bird
From the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "Khrushchev: The Man and his Era" comes the definitive volume on one of the most important and controversial figures of the 20th century, Mikhail Gorbachev.  In conversation with Pulitzer Prize winning biographer Kai Bird, Taubman discusses Gorbachev's contested place in history: a hero or inept politician who let the Soviet Empire collapse.
